LINWOOD SQUASH CLUB – CLOSED
I am sure you are all aware of the unusual situation we all find ourselves in at this present time, and I hope you are all looking out for those close to you but at the same time staying safe.
Any of our members or those with family that are our essential workers, THANK YOU. There is not much more we can say but thank you for everything you are doing to keep people safe and ensure we can have the essential services that some of us may need.
Squash NZ recently advised all district and local tournaments and events (interclub included) was suspended until 1st May 2020. Now, with the New Zealand Government raising the COVID-19 Alert system to level 4, government regulations state that all squash clubs nationwide (as non-essential businesses where public congregate) must close effective immediately.
Remember the basics:
* Work from home unless you are “essential services”
* Stay in your bubble
* If you go for a walk or run, keep the 1-2 meter distance
* No social gatherings
* No need to panic buy
* Look out for your neighbours, especially the elderly.
On a Linwood Squash note, the club is NOT being cleaned, because it is closed and everyone is staying home. So I plead with you to NOT go to the club as tempting as it may be for a casual hit. The Committee will advise once the club has had the full clean, and all clear for ANYONE to go back into the building.
The Committee trust all our members to adhere to the Government regulations at this time. Your Committee takes their responsibilities seriously and I am sure you as members take your responsibilities to your fellow members seriously.

If anyone has any queries, or wants to check when the courts will be available for use, you are more than welcome to ring Jess (0274 388 439). There will be an extension of a month (at this stage) to get your subscriptions paid, so by the end of June 2020 before any additional costs are incurred. Again if you want to discuss your membership further, give Jess a call.
To finish, if you want to chat – you can always give Jess a call, she will be working from home, but is always available for a friendly ear if you need it. Watch this space going forward, the next newsletter is not far away, the author has the content, just finding the time to get it completed.
